This photograph captures an adorable Great Horned Owl chick yawning for a split second. I found an owl family close to my house, and I observed them every day. I watched the chicks grow up into these lovely owls. I wanted to capture something unique, so I went there early in the morning to capture an interesting behavior. I noticed the chick in the tree cavity resting, so I focused on him the whole time. He was first just sleeping, but in about an hour he lifted his head, yawned for about 10 seconds, and went back to sleeping. I had to react extremely fast to this moment, but it paid off with this adorable shot.
